I love to talk with others. Below are some talks I have done. But, to be honest, I would prefer to talk with you about how YOU can encourage, equip, and empower the girls of your own community.
I feel that many times we women build our houses and get too busy to walk out on our front porch and come down those steps to meet the girls where they are and walk their paths with them. (Something I personally have been guilty of.) It is important we not let the enemy keep us quiet or keep our stories in a "closet of shame" because God has planned for us to be in His "Hall of Fame." Women and girls standing strong on His Word, in His love in and for His purpose.

Living in today's "Digital World" can be a blessing and a curse. In the matter of a click a teen can take the wrong turn down the "information highways." In this presentation Katie delivers a powerful and relevant message for teens and has a separate message for adults as well.
What or Who is Hiding In Your Closet?
Did you know that on average women have 3 times more the shoes in their closet as a men? Well,“just like a girl can never have too many shoes in her closet, she can never have too many friends in her life.” Katie helps women "dig through" the shoes in their closet and organize while analogizing the different types of friends in thier lives or need to be in their lives compared to shoes showing the importance of each one. Women walk away saying they will never look at their shoes or friends the same again. So, come on. Isn't it time you take inventory of your shoes and "if the shoe fits, wear it!"
10 Reasons I Want to Have Sex with my Boyfriend
"Come on, it isn't a big deal to have sex with my boyfriend. It isn't like I am just going out and hooking up with every guy I meet. I love him. We are going to stay together forever." These are the words Katie has heard so many times from girls. But, this "starry eyed happy" tune quickly changes when the unfortunate and eventual break up happens. This girl's reality has quickly changed to Rejected, Empty, Alone and Lost.
Based a brochure co-authored with Laurie Turnow LSW & MA , Katie has developed this realistic and interactive talk addressing the Top 10 Reasons girls say they want to have sex and offer the other side of these reasons. Katie shares from her heart the reasons to wait and encourages girls to think before they give away a precious gift meant for their husband that helps to avoid mental, physical consequences and pain from their choices with possible life altering possibilities. Each girl leaves this session with the Top Ten Reasons brochures to use as a resource and reminder of what she has heard and learned.
Beauty in Scars
Katie shares her own story of third degree burns she received at the age of six and the recovery. She then relates that experience to the choices we make in life.
Birds of a Feather Flock Together
As the saying goes, Birds of a Feather Flock Together! Or do they? Do you sometimes feel like a bright pink flamingo among a group of penguins? In this talk Katie brings new vision to the tacky pink flamingo and shares many lessons we can apply to our own lives based on the example of a real flamingo. Attendees leave saying, "Who knew so many useful things could be learned from a pink flamingo?" and aspiring to be a pink flamingo themselves!
REAL Beauty
In a world that almost everywhere we look from the photos in magazines to "reality" tv shows we are deceived into thinking what we see is how things actually are. Through the air brushing of photos, botox, plastic surgery, liposuction, extreme makeovers it can be discouraging and depressing when one looks and sees their reflection in the mirror. But, no matter how one looks on the outside, what is truly important is what one is like on the inside. REAL Beauty is something that only comes from the Creator for He knows the plan He has for you! Katie shares the REALity God planned for you and the REALity one can have through Jesus. Don't miss this opportunity to find comfort in the skin you are in!
What is Your REALITY?
ARE YOU REAL? Of course you are! But what are your perceived, received and achieved REALities? Using hands-on activities to help participants take a look at their reflection as others see them, they know themselves and how they want it to be in the future. Sharing how one’s actions and choices create and reflect this.
In a Faith based version of this talk Katie addresses the realities found in the world vs the Word. Katie shares how personal choices based on what the world says of her own past created a life with Regrets, leaving her to feel Empty, Alone and Lost. After learning the truth of the Word in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation; the old is gone and the new has come, gave her a new REALity in which she became Redeemed, Eternal, Able and Loved! The opportunity is shared to let Christ give each person His REALity too.
If the Shoe Fits, Wear It
“Just like the perfect shoe makes the outfit, the Perfect Friend, Jesus, makes the life.” Katie walks women though thr shoe racks of their closet or helps them dig though the pile making analogies between friends and shoes. Women laugh, cry and cringe as we go step by step to the most important shoe of all, the one a person simply can’t live without; the glass slipper Jesus has for each one of us. You will be inspired and encouraged and motivated to get a good pair of running shoes, a couple of Godly friends, to run the race with Hebrews 12:1-2,“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles and run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith,” as her guide.
