For the past 11 years I have been trying to be a REAL New Creation in Christ and I have discovered the only way I can truly do that is by learning the Word of God. About 8 years ago I attended a women's conference that would beging my journey through the Scriptures with sisters.
Whlie driving home we talked about our desire to keep the fire burning that had been lit at the conference and that resulted in the commitment to memorizing weekly Scriptures together which we called Well-Versed Women. At the time we all lived in the same area and attended the same church so it was "easy" to encourage one another & hold each other accountable as we would mee in the church kitchen to say the verse together and give the next verse to be memorized to each person on an index card. But, it wasn't just a memorization group. We would share how the verse spoke to us personally, how we were able to personally apply it to our lives and even share it with others through our professions and daily walks of life.
Unfortunately, a move took me to the Indianapolis area and our weekly routine came to an end. Moving stopped our weekly Word moving but that didn't stop the Word from moving. You see, I began a little group on facebook called SIS Sisters in Scriptures for about 5 of my friends to use and begin focusing on a weekly Scripture together. Don't ask me how or when but before I knew it, the group was growing larger and moving beyond the United States.
Four weeks ago I felt the nudge to REALly step it up and ask others to join me in ending 2011 with an 8 Week Real Scripture Challenge. The facebook challenge can be found at

This fall has been full of fun! After many years & tears (from my daughter and myself), we made the decision to home educate our Molly. Many people think this is a "no brainer" for a 10 year veteran teacher who spent 6 years teaching 3rd grade which Molly is in. To be honest, it is more challenging for many reasons. But, it also has many more blessings...for many reasons.

The Indianapolis Fever hold annual event for schools, Choices for Champions, to educate kids on the importance of choices. This year's event was focused on "Putting up a defense against bullying.". Get REAL inC was asked to come share The Digital Demon video project as a part of it. Brianna Caprice & Garrett Godsey made our presentation along with the showing of the video. Other speakers were Katie from project respect, Olivia Rusk a 14 year old living boldly bald with Alopecia, The Cyber Guardian & Tamika Catchings & Shyra Ely of the Indianapolis Fever. Both Fever women were transparent about dealing with bullies. Tamika was not only a tall girl growing up but a tall girl with hearing aids. She encouraged the kids by sharing with them God made each person unique. They should embrace & rejoice in who they individually are.
A wonderful program because every person was real! They spoke not strickly from scripts but from their hearts about things that mean a lot to them-teens!
Not only was this a powerful program for the school attendees but for myself & my 8 year old, Molly. No, Molly wasn't skipping school. God has been "calling" me to home educate her and I finally "picked up." But, that story is for another day. :)

The REAL Me!
After years of living about 30 years of my life in the world and not having a clue to who the REAL me was surprisingly :) I found myself pretty battered, bruised, scarred and lost. Thankfully, little nuggets of truth and godly friends had been placed in my life to help me find the Redeemed, Eternal, Alive and Loved me! It has been and continues to be an eye opening journey. Through this blog I will be transparent about the journey in the past, present & future. Yes, the good, the bad, and the ugly but always showing God's hand of help, protection, correction and love.
As I continue to be a new creation in Christ I invite you to walk along with me so we can encourage, equip and empower each other to be who God created us to be. So, grab your Bible, put on your seatbelt and let's be real with one another.
